Calling all Addy's

I know that I do this every year but with so many beautiful weddings and exciting moves, it's hard to keep track of you people :)

Please message (petey_23@hotmail.com) me your address or post it here ASAP if you feel comfortable to do so. Even if you think that I already have your current address, please & thanks.

For my personal enjoyment, here are some pics from my iPod because that's what I am posting from...weird thing technology.

Does anyone else feel like time is flying?

My Gazza

Gary or Gazza as many people here in NZ call him, was lucky enough to be voted player of the week for round 5 of the ANBL. I pasted the article released by the iinet NBL below, the source for this can be found HERE

Wilkinson wins weekly award

November 08, 2011, 11:27 AM AESTBy: NBL - Marc Howard

After a stunning match-winning National Basketball League performance against the Adelaide 36ers last Thursday, New Zealand Breakers big man Gary Wilkinson has taken out the iiNet NBL Championship Player of the Week honour for Round Five.

The American redhead scored an NBL season-high 29 points for the Breakers and added nine rebounds, one assist and one block to help the defending champs score a 99-90 victory over the Sixers.

Wilkinson made 13-of-18 shots from the field (72%) including 3-of-5 three-pointers, pouring in 10 points in the final period to seal the victory for New Zealand.

His efforts ensured the Breakers celebrated their opening home match at their regular venue of North Shore Events Centre with a win on the night they raised their 2010/11 championship banner and retired the singlet of former captain Paul Henare.

Melbourne Tigers star Patty Mills was also a leading contender for Player of the Week honours in Round Five. Mills helped guide the Tigers to a pair of wins last week, with an away victory over the Sydney Kings followed by a home W against the Cairns Taipans. For the week, Mills averaged 13.5 points, 9.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds.

Wilkinson’s Breakers teammate Cedric Jackson also was considered for the award after recording 16 points, 11 assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block against the Sixers.

Others considered for Player of the Week for Round Five included Diamon Simpson (Adelaide 36ers), Aaron Bruce (Sydney Kings), Jamar Wilson (Cairns Taipans), Brad Robbins (Perth Wildcats), Cameron Tragardh (Melbourne Tigers), Kevin Lisch (Perth Wildcats), Julian Khazzouh (Sydney Kings) and Mat Campbell (Wollongong Hawks).

2011/12 iiNet NBL Championship Player of the Week Winners
Round 1 – Patty Mills (Melbourne Tigers)
Round 2 – Shawn Redhage (Perth Wildcats)
Round 3 – Julian Khazzouh (Sydney Kings)
Round 4 – Daniel Johnson (Adelaide 36ers)
Round 5 – Gary Wilkinson (New Zealand Breakers)

We had a wonderful 1st Halloween with Jordan. He was a purrrrfect little tiger and darn cute little spook. The Wilkin-stones threw a fun Halloween bash on Saturday for our kiwi friends (post to come later). We even had a whopping 20 trick-or-treaters Monday night, by far the most we have ever had overseas...I think that the word got out to the apartment complex that we had goodie bags, not just lollies ;)

Still Miss You...

I desperately still miss you Gram...Happy Birthday in Heaven!

This photo is from my wedding day, I asked Gram to be my Maid of Honor,
she said reluctantly said yes but said "lets call me the Matron of Honor"...oh how I miss her!

A year ago I told my sweet mom that she was going to be a Grannie herself...I thought she could use some good news on a tough day. Now she has this little peace of sunshine to love and light up her life :)

I have a fun video of her reaction to the big news, but my super slow Internet won't let me load it...I will try again tomorrow.

I know 2 blog posts in one week...don't get your hopes up that this will become a habit, I just don't want to get more behind than I already am :)

10.08.2011

yeah...yeah..yeah

Yup I'm behind and I don't want to hear about it haha...jk
I have about 283671236123 drafts sitting there waiting to be finished and posted. I will get around to it hopefully sooner than later.

And no my lack of posting has nothing to do with being a new mom, oh how I love saying that..."new mom" :) I really have the time...I have just chosen not to for a while I guess. I am so terrible at wanting to keep up while we are in Utah. Instead of spending time posting about what we are up to, I would rather use that precious time stateside actually doing the things that are "post worthy" ha ha if that makes sense.

Anyway life is good and us Wilkinson's keep plugging along, learning as we go. We are back in New Zealand for the 2011-2012 season and to say the least it is wonderful to be back. Gary (who just turned 29...what?!) had his season opener this weekend and is off to a great start personally and as a team...that never hurts in this business. Duh statement I know, but my fellow bball wives know where I am coming from.

I feel like I am in a really good place. Learning a lot, working on some new goals, falling on my face when it comes to other goals, enjoying my handsome hubby, adoring my gorgeous son and smiling as much as I can.

Jordan is pretty much the most amazing little man, just ask anyone who meets him. He's got a grin that makes it humanly impossible not to grin back. A goofy giggle that melts your heart and an active little body that is surprisingly strong. He can roll over back to tummy/tummy to back and loves standing solid as a rock with only a little bit of help for balance.

I could go on and on and on and on, but as you can imagine those 723612635162 posts waiting to be published have a bunch of that good stuff so I wont spoil it ;) But I should mention that Jordan didn't think the itunes gift card I picked out for him to give to daddy for his bday was a cool enough present. So J decided that he would rather cut some teeth for daddy instead haha. Actually so far, like most everything in his little life thus far, Jordan has been a champ and has even take teething in stride.

Well rather than drag this weak-sauce, excuse for a catch up post on any longer...its time for me to say good night

Loves from New Zealand, don't forget to smile folks

Introducing...

Jordan James Wilkinson

Born May 26th 2011
10:33:55 pm
5 pounds 15 oz.
19.5 inches

I don't think a girl could feel anymore humbled, lucky or blessed than I do now. Sometimes it still feels like it didn't happen, that it all was a dream...too good to be true. Then I hold our heaven sent son in my arms and the warmth washes all over me. A special place in my heart smiles and feels whole all because of one tiny, perfect little boy. I look into those handsome eyes...so pure, so new and feels me up, encompassing every fiber of my being and all I can feel is love. Love for this precious spirit, the love of my Heavenly father who trusted us enough to send this sweet baby.  The love from all of the people who love the 3 of us, and last but certainly not least...the love we both have from a special husband and father whose hard work and sacrifice made it possible for Jordan to finally join us. Truly the Lord is aware and gives us exactly what we need, when we need it. I am sure grateful Heavenly Father knew we needed our Jordan James right now, It's hard to imagine what we ever did without our son.

Also, a BIG thanks for the nice fb comments and well wishes. Especially thank you to all of our families and the visitors we have had over the past few weeks...it's truly appreciated.

The Taste Of Sweet Victory...

I have so much to say and so much to update on, for now I just have 4 words...

*WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS*
Click the link below for video, it wouldn't let me load it to blogger

And boy is it sweet

Ok so I guess I have a few more than four words....I am SO proud of my hubby and his teammates...we have a quick turn around and will be back in Utah on Tuesday...its the last day I will be allowed on an airplane so I guess we better go for it :) If anyone would like to meet me at the airport with a giant pork salad from Cafe Rio I would be happy to email you our itinerary.

But for now I am going to pack like crazy, enjoy what a special moment this is for my husband & not think about how much I will miss New Zealand. Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers & well wishes...we have certainly felt them & have needed them :)

Always Expect The Unexpected

Well its official, my baby boy will forever and always be a "Kiwi". He decided that he didn't like Mom & Dad's plan of making it back to America for his birth, so he took matters into his own hands.

Like we have a name yet, we are still trying to grasp the fact
that we have a kid outside of the womb!

We are elated to have our little man here with us!!! But I have to admit, I was not/am not too crazy about the way he decided to make his grand entrance. After a few good hours of what I thought to be a serious case of some Braxton Hicks contractions, I was proven wrong by waking up to what I now know was my water breaking (As if I shouldn't have known then, serious denial!). But I did know that I needed to get to the hospital and QUICK! So basically the whole time I thought I was just being a whimp, I was really having premature labor symtoms. Since I was suppose to have atleast 8 weeks to go and all, including a very long plane ride home, preterm labor never crossed my mind.

THANK HEAVENS GARY WASN'T ON THE ROAD!

I don't know what I would have done had he been gone. The 3 of us are doing great, especially considering how aweful it could have turned out with the little man deciding to come so early. He (we) will obviously be in the hospital for awhile just to make sure everything is really as well as it seems. Thats all I have time to update for now. I will have to post pics when we are able to get home, its not letting me load them here at the hospital. For now you will have to settle for this photo, it really doesn't do my handsome little one justice though.

Sorry I couldn't resist...most of you had me figured out by the second sentence anyway...boy oh boy I hope this isn't encouraging some bad karma!

P.S. I will still consider my baby to be "Kiwi" even when he is born in America, after all he was cooked here & I hope he is just like the bright, smiley people of New Zealand :)
